Sortes is a divination service. Readings are for reflection and entertainment. They are not advice, not prediction, and not a statement of fact about your life or anyone else's.

Nothing here is medical, psychological, legal or financial advice. If a question is really about one of those, take it to someone qualified. If you are in crisis or thinking about harming yourself, contact your local emergency number or a crisis line — this service is not equipped to help and will not try.

How the draw works

What comes up is decided by deterministic code before any text is written, from a seed committed in advance. The commitment is shown to your browser before you ask, and the seed is revealed after the draw, so you can verify that your question did not change the outcome.

The interpretation is written by a language model working from a fixed corpus of symbol meanings. It cannot choose what was drawn.

Your account

One person, one account. Keep your sign-in link and password to yourself. Tell us if you think someone else has your account.

What you type stays yours. You give us permission to store it and use it to produce your readings, and nothing else.

Credits and payment

Some readings are free each day. Larger spreads and reports cost credits, bought in packs. Credits do not expire.

When payments are switched on, they are handled by a merchant of record who is the seller and issues your receipt. Refund requests go to them; we will help if something went wrong on our side, and a reading that failed to generate is always refunded in credits automatically.

What is not allowed

Automated scraping, resale of readings as your own service, attempts to extract the instructions given to the model, and uploading photos of other people without their knowledge.

We may limit or close an account that does these things.

No guarantee

The service is provided as it is. We do not promise it is always available, and we are not liable for decisions you make after a reading. Where the law gives you rights as a consumer, this paragraph does not take them away.
